Movenpick, Ibiza Cebu

They say it only takes a few seconds to create a lasting first impression. All I can say is that Movenpick Hotel Mactan (formerly Hilton Resort & Spa) instantly blew me away. The place was bursting with freshness! It was hip and stunningly ravishing.

This is Movenpick's first venture in the Philippines, giving us a taste of a luxurious swiss lifestyle in a comfortable tropical resort feel. Interiors are a mix of contemporary and Mediterranean interiors with bold colors contrasting against stark whites.

Am super in love with these aqua loungers! These floating chairs glow and glisten come night time. Fun indeed!

A few meters away from the beach, is the Ibiza Beach Club dubbed as "the most hip and happening party place in Cebu."

Sip your favorite cocktails, dance to the groove of their resident DJs and enjoy a truly fabulous Brazilian Churrasco dinner buffet. Experience"Espeto Corrido" where waiters move around the table slicing the meat into the guest's plate.

Grab 2 drinks for the price of one during the Happy Hour from 5-6:30pm.

The forum is distinctively classy and divine. White-washed walls. I'd like to chitchat midday with my gorgeous girl friends while enjoying the pool view.

At the grand lobby, is the towering Venus coffee machine by Victoria Arduino. It was skillfully handcrafted out of pure copper by master artisans and metal sculptors in the village of Macerata in Southeastern Italy. It is also the same maker as the coffee machine used at the Vatican by Pope Benedict XVI, destinations like the Eiffel Tower, the Moulin Rouge, L'Opera and Caffe Greco.

Juicing with Breville: The Juice Fountain Max

It's been a highly refreshing burst and explosion of colorful fruits and veggies on my instagram feeds lately. I have this humble advocate to inspire others to start juicing, make healthy smoothies and try the benefits of raw foodie.

This is my version of Pineapple Mango Coconut Lime Pina Colada Juice. A tropical punch rich in vitamins A & C protects your eyes and skin from harmful substances causing infection. Such a wonderful liquid heaven, a sip instantly drifts you off to wonderland.

Drink coconut water everyday and watch you skin glow! The liquid, considered the purest one after water, hydrates the skin, making it more youthful and supple. Antioxidants and cytokinins have an age-defying effect on one's skin.

Luckily, I've passed by this amazing roadside Coconut stand in Silang Cavite, which sells them for just P12/piece. What's even nicer is that the lady seller even volunteered to skillfully crack open the coconut right in front of me!

It has been my lifelong dream to visit Bukidnon's vast Pineapple plantation. But for now,  I guess I'd have to settle for Tagaytay's Mahogany Market to get my daily fruit and veggie produce.  These golden sweet pineapples costs P50/kg.

This is my take on the incredibly refreshing WaterMelon Pineapple Lime Mint Cooler. It instantly cools and hydrates, plus it tastes so good!

Achieve that younger-looking skin with just 2 cups of watermelon daily! Research showed that watermelon cuts the risk of sun related skin damage by 40%.

Watermelons are one of the most refreshing, thirst quenching fruits available all year round.

Make a grandiose applause for the power duo!

Cooling Kiwi and Refreshing Cucumber Apple Juice. Kiwi's high vitamin C content along with other antioxidant compounds has been proven to boost the immune system. Try this fruit for a quick immunity fix.

Sunshine in a bottle: Orange, Pineapple and Romaine. Oranges are full of potassium, an electrolyte mineral responsible for helping the heart function well. Boost your heart's health!

A little tidbit of advice for successful juicing: Buy what is in season! Highly abundant produce means they are relatively cheaper and thus, saves you money.

(From left to right ) Green Apple, Carrot Celery Juice and Watermelon Pineapple.

It doesn't only look good, these juices tastes great!

Benefits of Pomelo: Promotes healing. healthy heart, prevents anemia, wards off colds and flu, flights cancer and aging, weight loss and aids digestion.

Should you opt to store your juice or infused water, best to use glass jars (a.k.a Mason Jars) The Quattro Stagioni brands can be purchased from local department stores like SM and Landmark. The famous Ball brand are available by bulk at Ace hardware and True value stores. You can also find multiple varieties and limited edition pieces from Instagram sellers. Would you like me to list down the sellers?

Enjoy the healthy, natural goodness of a fresh glass of carrot juice.

Take delight in some good old fashioned homemade lemonade

This amazing Pumpkin Coconut Juice loaded with vitamin a, beta-carotene, carotenoids and potassium was inspired by Fitlife.tv Drew Canole's recipe.

I'm currently hooked to this delicious Pumpkin juice!

I am one proud owner of the Breville: The Juice Fountain Max. It is such a dream machine that lets me come home to fresh and nutritious juices. I've tossed my old juicer because juicing should be fun and NOT a tedious task. With Breville, juicing is a breeze! (oh, and cleaning too!)

For the past 2 months, I've stopped buying store bought juices. Why? It contains added sugars and hidden preservatives. Now, I'm reaping the rewards of precious health and glowing skin. Thanks to Breville!

Mine was purchased from the2013 World Food Expo 2013. It retails for P9,300 and also available at The Landmark and True Value Store.

Breville in the Philippines is distributed by IAJ Wellness Corporation.

Dubai Desert Safari: Dune Bashing, Camel Ride, BBQ Dinner, Belly Dance, Shisha Smoke and More!

When in Dubai a trip to the desert offers you the most exhilarating, enchanting and magical adventure of a lifetime. With so many desert safari tours to choose from, picking one may seem like a daunting task. But booking a good tour can make all the difference.

Ours is listed as one of the top 10 operators by the Department of Tourism in Dubai. We chose Charlie, a fellow Filipino ( Dubai-based experienced driver for 11 years) so that we can control the intensity of the sand dune bashing to avoid motion sickness.

The tour comes with a complete hotel pick up and drop-off service via a gleaming white Toyota 4wd Land Cruiser. Pick up time approximately 03:00 PM. 6-7 persons can be accommodated. back seats are not the best if you want to take good photos.

While waiting for other groups to gather, we stopped at a nearby supermarket for all sorts of pasalubong finds, from keychains to ref magnets to the famous Emirati red and white checkered head scarf which retails for 20 AED ( 1 AED = P12.65 ) It is also highly advisable to go the washrooms now because the desert dune bashing will be 45 mins non-stop.

An organized dune bashing, a tradition to drive in a convoy to the desert.  My mental headcount tells me that we are a group of 40 4wds Land Cruiser. Indeed, the more the merrier! It’s amazing how each driver seemed to know where to enter the queue. There was a track and all vehicles religiously followed. Experienced drivers leave zero chance of collision.

The thrilling roller coaster ride started when Charlie deflated the tires. We were told to buckle up and soon after, we were racing up sand dunes, climbing dune mountains and hitting angles that felt as if we were going to flip over! We hung on to dear life, shrieked out loud and giggled to our hearts content.
The nerve-wrecking part is when the driver takes it slow at first then drives the vehicle to a peak. Within 2 seconds, we held our breaths as we plunge deep into the sand below. This went on for about 30 mins. ( Avoid motion sickness by making sure you’re on an empty stomach. Bring candies should you start to feel queasy )

Best piece of advice ever: choose the evening desert safari,  it sets it apart from all the rest.  A breathtaking view of the vast desert will give you the photo-ops to catch the stunning sunset over a tranquil scenery.

How does it feel to be here? Priceless!

What makes it extra special is being with these wonderful people at this very moment!

We kicked off our shoes, frolicked bare foot and found the sand incredibly fine to the touch

Here's us attempting to remake the glitzy and glamorous ladies from The Sex and the City (SATC) Movie Part 2 shot in Abu Dhabi ( minus the Manolo Blahnik's and Dior of course! tee-hee)

Bursting into laughter as we embark on a trip of a lifetime to the exotic world of Middle East

A quick stop at the camel farm before heading back to the campsite

After bidding farewell to the sun over the dunes, darkness descends quickly and temperature begun to drop. We're definitely in store for a cold, chilly night out at the Bedouin campsite.

Relax beside a bonfire and marvel at the star-filled night sky

Charlie told us to grab a good spot near the center stage for the best view of tonight's performances

If this is a dream, I'm not going to wake up. But if I'm awake I won't close my eyes again! It's like talking a step back in time and experiencing Dubai as it was some 50 years ago.

The campsite is well-appointed with traditional Arabic carpets and decor

We were treated to demonstrations of various cultural activities

Such as photo-ops with the UAE's National Bird, the Falcon which symbolizes force and courage

A chance to wear the traditional Arabic dresses

Enjoy the flavored shisha ( Arabic water pipe ) smoking facility

Sand skiing especially for the adventure lovers

An ATV Ride

And this oh so spectacular camel ride!

Long ago, camels were trained to withstand long and arduous journeys. Now these camels went on to become the desert dwellers primary source of transport, shade, milk, meat, wool  and hides.

I had fantasies of riding a camel in a caftan or a long flowy dress. Tonight, I’m making my dreams come true! This is a midst various friendly warnings that it would be better to just wear jeans bundled up with a sweater on the cold campsite.

In reality, camels tend to be good-tempered, patient and intelligent. Can I mention friendly too? They come near you and want to snuggle, they often like to be caressed.

Now all these activities surely made us hungry. Be prepared for the lavish BBQ dinner buffet in store for us! Start off with this mouthwatering  freshly baked Arabic/Lebanese bread ( to dip this in hummus + extra virgin olive oil is heavenly! )

An authentic shawarma fresh off the grill!

Then there's grilled meat, chicken and fish. A wonderful aroma fills the enter campsite

Local specialties mostly healthy salads and beans

More food pics

End the meal with unlimited dates, tea and coffee ( softdrinks and water also available)

A friend showing off her pretty henna tattoo while watching the Russian belly dancer

From the sumptuous dinner now comes the mesmerizing performance of a professional belly dancer. Belly dance is the traditional dance of the Arabs. So graceful that one would definitely want to join her.

One of the highlights of the desert safari is the Tanoura Dance. It is usually performed by Sufi men from Egypt wearing long colorful skirts. This Egyptian folk dance entails the dancer to rhythmically whirl/spin non-stop for more than 20 minutes while showing off geometrical patterns, bright colors and tubes of light on their attire.

Charmed by the magical and star-lit sky at the campsite? Guests may opt to avail of the overnight desert safari to experience the true sounds and flavor of the desert. An overnight stay in the tents.
For us, we decided to call it a night and headed back to the hotel armed with beautiful memories enough to last a lifetime. The Desert Safari is the ultimate travel experience When in Dubai.

Dubai Miracle Garden & Madinat Jumeirah

In Dubai, the possibilities are endless! In an unassuming city with a parched hot desert climate, arose the world's largest aquarium and an indoor ski resort. Last March 28 2013, Dubai achieved yet another Guinness Record for having the largest vertical garden.

Developed by Akar landscaping company, floral displays will change season after season so that each repeat visitor will have a fresh experience.

Armed with only our OOTD Theme: Sisterhood of the Travelling Skirt, we took the metro red line from Emirates Head Quarters and alighted 17 stations away at The Mall of Emirates. We hailed a cab towards Al Barsha which costs roughly around 26-28 AED.

(From L-R Rizi, KC, Jyu & Me)

Upon paying an admission fee of 20 AED, we were slowly whisked away to an amazing floral paradise consisting of a castle, arch and umbrella pathway, tents, mushroom village, happy birthday zone, gazebo, cars zone, river, boats, pyramid, lakes and fountain, tunnels, falcon, peacocks, a Burj Khalifa of 18 meters height plus a clock 13 meters in diameter.

They have recently opened Dubai Miracle Garden Phase 2. Regular admission now costs 30 AED for both Phase I & II. Still undergoing some preparations, it will soon feature butterflies, edible and aromatic plants, flower valleys and other exciting attractions. It is located in the North West Quadrant of Arabian Ranches interchange along Shiekh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road within Dubai Land Development Project.

Plan your next visit to the park ideally on your birthday because from now on the Happy Birthday Zone will have the date of each day marking.

Afterwards, we headed towards the Madinat Jumeirah to appreciate the finer things in life. This luxurious resort, set across its own private beach, features two grand boutique hotels: Al Qasr and Mina A'Salam, 29 traditional summer houses in Dar Al Masyaf, 7 Malakiya Villas, over 40 world-class restaurants, bars and lounges, two grand ballrooms, a 1000-seat amphitheater, an arena, extensive leisure and health facilities as well as a souk which showcases a traditional Arabian market.

This upscale souk is a world of distinct traditional Arabian splendor

A unique shopping experience awaits. Discover a myriad of treasures hidden along every alley - fashion, jewellery, antiques, arts, oils and spices.

Dubai Juice World, Al Rigga

$

I was slowly easing out of the master cleanse lemonade detox diet, so I had to drink several glasses of fresh orange juice throughout the day. The orange juice will prepare the digestive tract to be able to once again properly digest solid food.

This is where I spent my Valentine's night in Dubai. I had the most thoughtful girlfriends in the entire world, supportive of my detox. So we found ourselves smacked right at the middle of Al Rigga Street, near Al Rigga Station in search of the freshest orange juice ever!

Saudi's biggest juice chain is now in Dubai! Juice World is an intl group making more than 150 kinds of fresh juices, falaudas, fruit salads and fruit bouquets. A starting price of 8 AED for a small cup seems pretty affordable, right?

Before placing our orders at the counter, we just couldn't help but check out the eye-catching fruit cluster decors first. A salesperson limits the number of persons inside the mirrored wall room, so we had to queue and wait for our turn. Say hello to bunches of apples, avocados, pineapples, bananas, oranges and pomegranate in interesting shapes and structure. A cool new concept to attract more customers.

Happy hearts day! Just like the flowers in Dubai Miracle Garden, these fruit decors change season after season so that each repeat visitor will have a fresh experience.

There goes the #selfie. Why not?

Friends. Fruit. Fun.

Another Dubai adventure awaits. Only this time, no desert safaris nor camel rides involved.

So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know what you're falling for
Baby do you dare to do this?
Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse

That's Katy Perry's song popping on my head as my eyes glistened in bewilderment upon seeing intricate Egyptian pharaohs, pyramids, ramses statue and columns carved with hieroglyphics.

From the brilliant minds of the people behind MKM Commercial Holdings comes Wafi City. A picturesque complex which features a mall, hotel, residences and a night club. Impressive!

The Hospitality branch includes Pyramids Restaurants, Wafi Gourmet, Cleopatra's Spa & wellness, Spa Resources Intl and is complemented by the Wafi Hotels: Arabian Park Hotel and Park Hotel Apartments.

Wafi Mall's splendour is conveyed through exquisite stained glass, intricate mosaics, carvings and sculptures. With over 350 shops, this is luxury shopping at its finest! Think Armani, Christian Audigier, Diesel, Just Cavalli, Chopard, Burberry, Chanel and more...

In between shopping and sight-seeing, something awesome just caught my attention. The idea was fresh and new.  I was seriously contemplating in trying this one out. Salt Cave Spa! The first in Dubai and Middle East. A 45 minute salt therapy session designed to cleanse and rejuvenate the body promote health and well-being. Salt therapy has many benefits for treating conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, cold and flu, allergies and eczema. To breathe the purest air on earth would costs 250 aed. Excited to try this sometime, soon.

Khan Murjan, Wafi complex's large Moroccan style restaurant serves delicacies from all corners of the Middle East and North Africa. Think Lebanese minced lamb meat, stewed veggies from Iran, Moroccan couscous and Turk, Syrian and Egyptian cuisines. As you feast, Arabic music is played.

CarmisCaprice loves all things beautiful, fancy, artsy, craftsy and pretty! And throughout the four quarters of Khan Murjan souk, you'll find 150 shops and vendors from across the Arab world. It literally took my breath away! Allowing myself to be enchanted by the magic of ancient times.

Oooh! Such lovely vases and carpets. If only I could squeeze you inside my trolley. I'd be delighted to bring you all back home.

Such intricate plates, bowls and decors following the traditional styles of Egypt. The only downside is, prices are a tad bit higher, think Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

This plethora of swoon worthy stained glass decor lamps still haunts me, even in my sleep. I seriously adore them!

Gorgeous finds!

That's me and my batchies experiencing luxury living the middle eastern style. (L-R Me, Rizi and KC )

Each year, I look forward to visiting the best breakfast place in Boracay. It used to be "hit or miss" finding this hidden gem tucked in an unassuming place, in an alley somewhere along Station 1. I know I'm near Real Coffee and Tea Cafe when I start to smell the wonderful aroma of baked breads, muffins and freshly brewed coffee.

Last February, to my delight I stumbled upon its newest location! The same humbly designed cafe in a nipa hut setting had finally gone beachfront! Cheers! It is now located at Boracay beach station 2 2/F Sea World.

Each meal comes with a free cup of coffee

and my all-time favorite: Jack's Omelette, a whopping serving of three eggs, onions, tomatoes, tuna and cheese ( optional: pesto ) served with toast

Clara Ole's Mango jam never fails to adds an exciting burst of flavor on my toast.

Winter Sonata's Nami Island and Myeongdong Shopping in Seoul

Welcome to Nami, a tiny half-moon shaped island located in Chuncheon famous for its tree lined paths and where the famous koreanovela Winter Sonata was filmed.

Situated 63 km from Seoul in the middle of Han River, Nami Island looks like a leaf floating gracefully on top of Cheongpyeong Lake.

The Island has an area of 460,000 m2 and a circumference of 5km. Formed with pebbles and sand, there are no mountains in the island, but there are trees tall enough to touch the sky. It was named after General Nami, a notable figure in Korean history who courageously fought in battles but died at the age of 26.

Banish the thought that coming here would cost you an arm and a leg. It is incredibly affordable to go here and our do-it-yourself tour was 100% successful. We took the ITX Cheongchun Line from Yongsan station in Seoul to Gapyeong station. Fare is 4,800 won or $4.80 usd. The ITX Cheongchun is a highspeed train that travels upto 180 km/hr and is the country's 1st two-story train.

Cheongchun has attendants on board from whom snacks and drinks may be purchased from and has several facilities and conveniences including nursing rooms, restrooms and power outlets. The ITX-Cheongchun is the fastest train in Korea after the KTX.

From Gapyeong Station, we hailed a cab towards Nami Ferry Terminal and fare was 3,000 won or $3 usd.

Entrance to the Naminara Republic costs 10,000 won or $10 usd for adults. Foreigners ( like us! ) gets a 20% discount, so we only shelled out 8,000 won or $8 usd. A special rate of 4,000 won or $4 usd for kids aged 3-13 while those aged 36 months under gets in for FREE. The entrance fee covers the round-trip ferry fare and taxes as well.

A guide to all the themed gardens, stages, restaurants, exhibition halls and seminar/ banquet facilities inside the Island.

The backdrop of the Koreanovela Winter Sonata first kiss scene still exhibits two snowmen in the image of the two characters.

It has wide grassy gardens where deer, ostriches, squirrels, ducks and countless types of birds flourish. A place where not only nature but also human beings can coexist.

Sometimes a beautiful view in the middle of nature is the best refresher from this fast-paced world

In 1965, thousands of trees were planted by Mr. Byeong-Do Minn. Enjoy a leisure stroll at Nami. With its laid-back vibe, get to enjoy such wonderful sights and commune with nature!

OOTD: Zara Trench Coat

The most wonderful momento you could take with you, is a souvenir photo amidst the two rows of Korean pine tree lanes with the gorgeous sunset beaming at the back. I would definitely love to be here come Autumn to see leaves turning bright yellow. That would be soo romantic!

And various souvenir shops abound!

These are the cutest Nami snowman souvenirs ever!

Pretty hanging wall decors

I wish Nehemiah and I had bought Monopods or selfie-sticks with us. Anyways, amidst the language barrier we finally found a good soul to take our pic together.

Seasonal rain used to transform this land into an island, and with the construction of Cheongpyeong dam, it is now an island all year long.

Oh! and if you are a fan of The Little Prince, you might as well visit the nearby Petite France. A spectacular and charming little European Town. Bye for now Nami.

With Nehemiah and Marian  at Doota ( Doosan Tower ) a popular shopping mall located in central south Seoul.

Seoul is amazingly bursting with vibrance at night!

Seoul's Cheonggyecheon stream has become one of the city's most popular icons since the 6 km waterway was restored and reintroduced to the public.

Eeek! I think I just died and went straight to korean dress heaven. Such dainty and trendy finds! These and more at the subway underground shops.

Myeongdong is Seoul's no.1 shopping district. Think luxury big brands in fashion, skincare and the works!

To a Korean woman, beauty starts with healthy skin. A good skin care regimen is far more important than cosmetics.

Korea's skincare boom goes back to its famous beauty regimens, which, for the average Korean woman, includes roughly 18 products per day. Bright skin meant that you came from a noble family. The concept carries on.

Some of the well loved Korean Skincare brands includes The Face Shop, Etude House, Tony Moly, Lainege, Skinfood, Nature Republic, Too Cool for School, Missha, Innisfree and a lot more!

Items are usually on sale and free samples are automatically given after each purchase!

Seoul is one of the fashion capitals of the world and Myeongdong is it's shopping paradise!

Tornado Potato and Twist Dog anyone? Night shopping is twice the fun when you get to try Korean street foods!

Spring announces its arrival in Korea! Temperature ranges from 5℃ to 20℃ and the return of warm weather brings cherry blossoms, apricot flowers, and cornus fruit trees to bloom all over the country.

Everland in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do Province is South Korea's largest theme park home to over 40 heart-pounding rides and attractions. See Everland bloom with 120 brilliantly colored tulips as it hosts this year's Tulip Festival.

Oh it sure feels nice to be young again! (tee-hee) The park is divided into five zones, each has its own distinct themes. Go for Zoo-topia if you're up for a trip through the wild world of animals. Magic Land transports you to the land of imagination and all things 'abracadabra'.

The American and European Adventure both offers thrilling, hair raising rides, exhilarating roller coasters and mind-blowing stimulations.

Global Fair is an international market of shopping outlets

Enjoy the adventures of Pororo and friends leaving on the Super Sled in 3D more vividly and experience lots of fun!

Sadly, majority of the rides were closed due to the occasional downpour of rain.

But that shouldn't be a reason to frown! There's a lot to be thankful for. Being here at this exact moment is already a blessing.

Atleast some rides ( like the cable car ) were open despite the heavy rains

Wind was uber chilly and our hands were literally numb to touch (so this was how Elsa in the Disney Movie Frozen felt ) so we decided to keep warm inside the heated burger joint. We had the Cajun and Shrimp burger.

Stroll along the theme park in one of these playful ribbon headbands

Beautifully detailed Korean dolls wearing traditional Korean clothing. Hanbok, as well as historical clothing from the Chosun and Shilla Dynasties.

We were a bit skeptical in shopping for Korean skincare and makeup inside the theme park thinking the prices might be too steep and overrated. But I tell you, prices are almost the same as buying them from the regular stores and even underground train shops. Includes lots of promo and sale items and they were even more generous in giving out samples and freebies.

Nature Republic face masks on a buy 20 take 10 promo

Tubs of Nature Republic's Cooling Aloe Vera Gel selling like hotcakes!

How to get here?

Mai and I braved the public transportation (despite the language barrier ) and took Bus 66 from Suwon Station. You can also board Bus 5002 from Gangnam Bus Station or Jamsil Station. The chance of getting lost is zero because you just have to alight at the last bus stop. We hopped to another shuttle bus ( for free! ) to get to the main entrance of the resort.

Piece of advice: Print this discount coupon to save 9,000 won per adult ( approx $9) You can also download this from the Everland Resort's website.

And there's no better way to cap off the night than to enjoy an authentic Korean cuisine. A friend graciously treated us to Dakibong Restaurant to try Dak Galbi.

Dak galbi is a popular Korean dish generally made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in a gochujang (chili pepper paste) based sauce, and sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions, onions, perilla leaves, and tteok (rice cake) together on a hot plate.

Thank you Marian for the sumptuous Dak Galbi dinner!

Bustling City of Busan: Jagalchi Seafood Market & Nampodong Shopping

This is Part 3 of my Korea series. Have you read my other posts?
Part 1: Winter Sonata's Nami Island and Myeongdong Shopping in Seoul
Part 2: Everland Resort: Korea's Disneyland

We took the efficient KTX bullet train from Seoul to Busan. Korea's modern high-speed train completes the journey from the capital's central railway station to Busan in around three hours. Ticket costs 58,000 won (P2,500) one-way. For convenience, have a korean friend book and buy your tickets online because these are the trains most likely to sell-out ahead of time. KTX website and iphone apps are in Korean.

A piece of advice:  If you can possibly avoid it, try NOT to travel back to Seoul on a Sunday night. Tickets sell fast, can be quite pricey and poor souls wanting to get back to Seoul might end up in standing room.

Welcome to the vibrant, bustling and cosmopolitan city of Busan! Beside the busy port in the heart of the city is Jagalchi, South Korea's largest seafood market. Giant fishing boats deliver the latest catch directly to the stalls day and night.

Korean women dressed in wide sunhats, heavy aprons and long rubber gloves attend to their respective stalls. Women are called Jagalchi "ajumma" - the Korean word for "middle-aged woman'' or "married women.' History tells us that this market survived in the years immediately after the Korean War when there weren't many men around to take care of business.

Being here in this precise moment is truly experiencing stalls and stalls of commercial trade of selling raw fish and other seafoods straight from the ocean.

Almost right off the boat, fish and shellfish, eels, squids, mollusks, mackerels, sea squirts and even whale meat are sold fresh to consumers daily.

As a spring season delicacy, Yuni made us try a hwe (sashimi) slices of some flat fish. It was very fresh and had a sweet delicate taste.

Another way to enjoy those hwes is to place it on the leaves, spread on a layer of red pepper sauce and top it off with kimchis.

Adjacent to Jagalchi Market is the enormous Nampodong International market, also known as Guk-je Market.

We were in for some serious shopping and bargain haunts! With only a few hours to spare, we hurriedly browse hundreds after hundreds of trendy clothes.

Shopping during spring season means dainty pastels of        cardigans, fluffy sweaters, cover-ups, flashy trench coats and denim jackets.

Snow boots likewise known as UGGS are a steal for as low as 5,000 won! ( $5 or P220 pesos) I've checked its counterpart prices in Seoul where it retails for 20,000 won. These faux sheepskin boots are amazingly warm and oh so comfy!

I think I just died and went straight to korean dress heaven! For these fashionable pieces, prices starts for as low as 10,000 won or P450 pesos.

The effect of retail therapy on us! Big wide grins (tee-hee)

Locals flock the alley ways lined-up with various tasty Korean street food. There's fish cake, churros, deep fried dumplings, sushi and more.

When in Korea, eat what the locals eat. And we would never pass up the chance to try our hands on an authentic bowl of bibimbap. Mixed rice with assorted meat and vegetables.

Busan I will always remember you as the greatest place for the freshest ocean catch, trendy affordable clothes, delicious street food and authentic bibimbap.
